Worked for a smile

I worked hard to get C to smile for me. He just refused and when he would, it was just a fake smile. There is just something about most senior guys. They just don't like to smile. Once I learned his personality and found out what made him smile, I ended up with some good ones.

We had a great time walking this beautiful campus. My session was with C and his best friend J. I felt sorry for C's mother, because she was the walking closet for these guys. Boy did we do some walking too. They laughed and cut up the whole time. I just love watching best friends interact. They tell their little inside jokes and just laugh, while mom and I just stood there laughing at them.

Senior Sneaks - Round 10

This is the last of the Senior Pictures for BrainTrain!! WOW, what a joy it has been to meet each of these students and hear their stories and listen to their dreams. I just love my job!!!

Ms. E was not at the marathon session, but did make it to the school on Tuesday. I was able to grab some shots of her for her senior memories. She was super sweet and very soft spoken. When I asked her what she wanted to do after graduation, I just about fell over when I heard her answer. Motorsports, as in Nascar!!! I had to ask her again to make sure I heard her right! She was so cute when she repeated herself. Good for her!!! When you have dreams, you need to follow them. I hope that she takes this dream and works towards it with all her heart!

Keep up that sweet spirit within you!!! It really makes you shine :)

Senior Sneaks - Round 9

Poor Mr. CJ!! You thought I didn't like you :) I didn't forget about you.

You are super fun. Started off the session rooting for the Rangers!! Boy, you sure were hiding a great smile. It was good to finally see you lose the tough cowboy facade and show that smile. I know your momma is proud of you. Just to hear your story and to hear the things that you are doing with your life, would make any momma proud.

You were so excited when I talked about props and you being able to use your truck. Then you show up with that FORD! I just had to give you a hard time about it. Granted, I am still a Chevy, chick, but sometimes a truck is a TRUCK!!! If it runs and gets the job done, then it is a TRUCK!

It was a pleasure meeting you. Keep on doing what you are doing CJ!!! And SMILE!

Senior Sneaks - Round 8

Oh so close! I just love editing as much as I love my sessions! I really do re-live each session when I edit it. I remember conversations, silly things, smiles, smerks, and always take away little bits of each person.

Mr. C will really stay with me. There was so much about him that reminded me of my son. From the music, to the verbage, all the way to his shoes! I just fell in love with his casual shoes! He was so much fun to be around. Granted, it took quite bit to get him to really smile, but I finally got some out of him.

Keep your originality!! It makes you who you are :)

Senior Sneaks - Round 7

Mr C. I sure made you do some walking!!! Thank you for being patient with me and letting me take you around the campus. You were such a delight to talk to and get to know. It is great to hear that you plan on attending SAGU! You are going to just love it!!!

Keep on looking up! He will open the right doors for you. Just keep following the footsteps and He will take you so far.

Senior Sneaks - Round 6

I am still laughing at the expression on Miss D's face when she walked outside after changing clothes. She had on her Cowboy's jersey and a pair of orange Longhorn's shorts!!! She forgot her jeans!!!! I felt so bad for her. It didn't help that she was not feeling good anyways. I did not let that ruin the rest of our session! I made due and we just rolled with it. You can't even tell that she was in totally not matching shorts!

Oh she was full of fun session surprises. Her dress shoes were too big and she just about twisted her ankle walking down the hill. We laughed the whole time!!! I just love her personality. You would have never guessed she was sick. Keep up the great spirits no matter what! It is a wonderful quality to have!!

Miss D, I hope that you found your jeans and exchanged your shoes!!! Good luck sweetheart!! Oh, and tell your boyfriend that I said thanks again for being your chair in the back of the truck! What a trooper :)

Senior Sneaks - Round 5

Oh my I don't even know where to begin with Mr. T!!! I will just say that after falling out of 2 trees, he was finally opened up! We tried hard to get his crazy shot climbing a tree, but the trees would have nothing to do with it! I am so grateful he was ok!! Such a champ.

He and I walked the campus and had fun talking. Well, I had fun trying to get words out of his mouth. He was quick to let me know that I was about to run into a bunch of hornets!!!!

Mr. T, you are a great kid and I am always going to remember you and the trees!!! I wish you the best of luck. Smile, it looks good on you!!!

Senior Sneaks - Round 4

Halfway there! Only 5 more sessions to go!

This sweet girl has such a natural beauty about her. Sweet personality and soft spoken! I had a great time getting to know her and being able to capture her beauty. When we were walking I asked her what she wanted to do after graduation. She surprised me when she said she wanted to be a photographer!!! Oh did our conversation quickly change!

I look forward to seeing what Miss C can do with the camera! If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to ask! Good luck and you can do it!!!

Senior Sneaks - Round 3

This young man was tough to get through at first! He just refused to loosen up and give me a real smile! I never give up though, and after about 10 min he started showing me that smile!!!!

I was given an assignment with these seniors. They all had to provide a picture that showed their enthusiasm for graduating.... Oh my goodness, Mr. C was tough! We did end up getting a pretty good shot of him. Sorry, but can't post it!!! It will be in the senior slide show and that is when they get to see it!!!

Thanks Mr. C for finally letting down your guard and giving me your personality!!!!

Senior Sneaks - Round 2

Two sessions down and 7 more to go!!!! It is just as much fun going back through these and editing them! I remember a little something about each one of these amazing kids!

Miss I was super quite. She always had a smile on her face and poor thing was stuck in a boot. I made sure to not take her off roading with me! We stayed on the paved areas and I only made her get down on the ground once!!

Senior Sneaks - Round 1

Let me just tell you a little about one of the best days I have had!!!! 9 amazing Seniors in one day!!!! Yep, back to back to back senior sessions. I had the absolute best group of kids. Everyone was so respectful and we all made great memories! I could not have asked for a smoother marathon session.

From falling out of trees to forgetting jeans, we made each session work to our advantage! I think I walked about 5 miles and my body sure felt every footstep when I got home. It is great going back through the sessions and laughing at little things that happened during the sessions. Remembering goofy moments, and great talks makes my job the best in the world.

Splish Splash & Vroom Vroom

Oh Miss Jenna! You are such a cutie and have such a great personality! I had so much fun getting to know you and watching you come out of your shell.

This beautiful young lady and I got to spend time together twice!! First for a session in her amazing backyard. We spent time walking and talking and getting to know each other while capturing her beauty! I was so amazed by their breathtaking pool.

For our second session we got to play with her daddy's car! We had a fun time watching people drive by staring at her and the car. She had a few fans that drove by more than once!

Good luck Sweet Jenna! Your senior year will be over before you know it.

The Senior Session Adventure

This session, I was told, made me earn my business name!!! My step-daughter and I headed out to shoot her senior pictures. I was so excited to get to do them and use some new locations and an old one. We stopped first at this great building that was overgrown with ivy. It was a blast as we captured some great shots. Then we headed into Downtown Fort Worth for one of my favorite locations to get a few pictures before heading towards the stockyards.

Well, she was getting out of the car in downtown Ft Worth and as she was opening the car door to get some things out of the backseat, she swung the door open into her eye. She just stood there laughing and holding her eye. She said she was fine, but when she moved her hand, I noticed she split her eyebrow open. Thank goodness we were close to the ER! Needless to say, we were not able to finish her session due to the fact we spent the next 3 hours in the ER getting her eyebrow stitched up!!!!! She was such a great sport and did great.

Next time, I am going to be in charge of opening the doors for her!!! Here is what we were able to capture from the first place we stopped!

Senior Fun

What a treat it was to meet this gentleman. He was so polite, when he would talk!! It is funny to watch the guys get in front of the camera. They freeze up and are just ready to get it over with. We had fun trying to get him to warm up and smile. It did not take to long and we were on a roll.

Such a Pleasure

This sweet young lady was such a joy to be around! What an inspiration she is. Finishing high school in December and already taking college courses before she even walks across the stage to receive her diploma! She proves that if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything!!!!

I had so much fun watching her interact with her parents. That brought back so many memories of my dad and me. Her dad was along just to pester the fire out of her. And that he did plenty of!!!! I just had to capture some of those moments for her to look back and remember those days and to miss those moments!

Thank you so much for being yourself!! I had a blast watching you and listening to your life. Keep setting those high goals for yourself, because you WILL accomplish each one.
